Landon LaLonde and Monique Kordasiewicz met in 2003. Alas, love was not yet in their cards (Corny, no?). In a twist of fate (and a whole lot of luck on both our parts), things seemed to fall into place and the couple will be celebrating 4 years Labor Day weekend 2008.
Landon proposed to Monique on February 24, 2007 in a tiny town in Michigan called Frankenmuth. Frankenmuth is a quant town with Bavarian buildings, people in costumes, and even horse drawn carriages. It was in one of those carriages, in a ride along the iver, that Landon proposed. With a white carriage and white horse as the backdrop, Monique said yes.
Landon, born on March 23, 1977, grew up in a very small town called Standish, MI. Raised by his grandmother, Landon was surrounded by cousins. Landon helped work the family farm and fished the creek that ran through their yard. Landon played football all through high school, and still plays today (along with basketball). Landon graduated from Central Michigan University with his degree in Sports Medicine. Today, he is happily working as a Certified Athletic Trainer for the local high school (H.H. Dow High School) in Midland, MI. He also works mornings at the hospital in Midland, doing everything from rehab to athlete conditioning.
Monique, born May 1, 1984, grew up in a very large city called Milwaukee, WI. Raised by her mother and grandmother, Monique spent most of her time at the local community center with her hands in clay or covered in paint. If her nose wasn’t covered in paint, it was buried in a book (and likely still is today). Monique graduated from Milwaukee Area Technical College in 2004 with an Associate’s Degree in Business Mid-Management. This past December, Monique graduated with a second degree, a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. She has held various jobs, from interviewing loggers across the New England States and Canada, to managing an office in the 3rd Ward in Milwaukee’s downtown. She also builds websites in her spare time and has actually made a business of it.
