Vegas Transport

Travel around the Vegas strip is pretty easy. There are a few things to remember when traveling around Vegas (extensive printable version, with maps, coming SOON):

From the Airport to Hotel

You have a couple of options here:

Shuttle
About $5.00 to Strip Hotels and $7.00 for Downtown Hotels. You can get a deal for roundtrip shuttle tickets right away. Ask your driver, and make sure you get the number and find out how far in advance you have to call for pickup.

These can take almost an hour to get you to your hotel, but sometimes is less.

Taxi
Approximately $15.00 to Strip Hotels and $20.00 downtown.
These are the quickest option, MAKE SURE TO TELL THEM NOT TO TAKE THE FREEWAY.

Limousine Shuttle
If you have a group of 6 or more, this will be about $10.00 per person (total rental is $55-65).
Note that all six people will have to be going hotels in the same general area.

Bus
One-way fare on the Strip is $2 or $5 for a 24 hour pass (unlimited rides). Operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Exact Change Required.
We've used this many times. Easy, efficient. Cheap. They have a big "DEUCE" on the side. You can pick one up at many locations (some covered, some not).

Taxi
Cost depends on where you are going. Sometimes its $5.00 plus tip, just depends how far you are going, sometimes it is $15 to go all the way across the strip.
Ask the valet at your hotel and always ask before you get into the cab how much it is. The best way to get a taxi is to try to go to where they are lined up at each hotel (usually by the hotel lobby). Do not try to catch one in front of hotels. This is ussually one of the fastest ways if you don't want to take the bus.

Monorails
There are a few smaller trams, but this is the major one. See the map above. The route is approximately 4 miles long and runs from 7 am to 2 am (3 am Friday night through Sunday night). It takes about 15 minutes to go the full route with trains arriving in stations approximately every 10 minutes.

Tickets are available for a fixed number of rides or for a fixed period of time. Ticket pricing is as follows:

The monorail is behind the casinos. They stop at the following (from north to south):
